The casino was designed by JMA Architecture Studios and opened in June 2003 and later expanded and finished from March 2009 to July 2010. The compact was later renegotiated with then-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2004. Once the community entered a tribal-state gaming compact with California in September 1999, they were able to conduct Class III gaming on trust land. So developing the casino was a decision to help restore the tribe’s federal status, lift themselves out of poverty, and acquire land under the rules of tribal sovereignty. During the 50s and 60s, the United States government terminated 41 mini-reservations including land for these tribes. The venue is owned by the United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC), a Native American tribe consisting of mostly members of the Miwuk and Maidu tribes indigenous to the Sacramento Valley region.
The venue has an onsite bar with snacks and drinks as well as nearby food trucks and restrooms so you don’t miss out on any of the actions. The venue, custom-built inside of the casino parking lot, is a 5,000 seat capacity venue featuring state-of-the-art sound and lighting engineering as well as two large video screens to keep everyone in the action no matter where they’re seated. For over 10 years, Thunder Valley Casino Amphitheatre has been one of the hottest outdoor concert destinations in the Lincoln area of California.
